I think its not ok just to take employees things away from them and take it home it rude and that's is disrespectful. My second reason it would be ok if employee take a personal item home as long he ask the manger or some one else then they will know who will have it.
I agree with you Justin, that it's not okay to remove things from your work. As long as you have no permission from a supervisor, manager or your boss, there is no way to break this rule because it's not your property! On the other side, when a supervisor allows you to use a thing for private reasons or that you can take it home, it's okay because you have a official permission to use it.
